I became an orthopaedic surgeon because of my experience as a college wrestler.

I love working with my hands and fixing things. I had plenty of orthopaedic injuries as I was growing up. Through these injuries, and my father who was an orthopaedic surgeon, I was exposed to the field of orthopaedics and I came to love it.

I had a great deal of orthopaedic experience growing up. I spent more time in the orthopaedist’s office than the pediatrician’s.

I wanted to join a profession where the goal was not only to return people back to health, but to return them to their previous activity level.

I had a tremendous mentor in medical school, Dr. Jack Ingari who showed me how much Orthopaedic Surgeons can help injured people get back to normal lives.

Following graduation from college, four friends and I attempted to ride across the country on bicycles. We were young, strong and very fit. After 1600 miles, three of us were hit head-on by a fast moving automobile. I spent a month in the hospital with multiple injuries and was discharged directly to medical school.
